CLOCKED_ — bcnsound@ 5:45 pm

Ive just finished the soundtrack to a gritty urban short from London, “Clocked”. It has been made Michael Sharck (The Farm Post Pro house, London) and produced by Ben Blair. My idea for the soundtrack was somewhere between Radiohead, Massive Attack, and some twisted, abstract sound design - which was great fun to do as there was lots of space for me to play sonically, long flowing scenes with little or no dialog.

A well acted film and a lot of fun to work on… More news on this project soon.

MEDIA MARKT_ — bcnsound@ 2:00 pm

hi

We’ve just put the finishing touches to the new advert for Media Markt… We made an over the top, glorious symphonic orchestration of the theme tune.

Here it is on YouTube, and soon I’ll put a better quality version online.

SYNAESTHETIC ANIMATION_ — bcnsound@ 3:52 pm

Norman Mclaren was an experimental film maker from Scotland, who moved to Canada and there created some of the most beautiful animations to music, using techniques such as simply scratching and painting directly onto film. (We digital kids have got it real easy!!!)

Here is one of his most well known works, “Begone Dull Care” from 1941 which animates the music of the great Oscar Peterson….I remember being blown away by these when I watched them while researching syneasthesia at university. just found it again online.

Enjoy.
